My Story

Hello beautiful my name is Taniesha. In all honesty, I do not want to write the typical biography. You are looking at an extension of myself, so I'll speak to you as a friend and keep it as short as I can. My initial serious interest in photography began when I was 18. I bought my first camera, a Canon DSLR, and began photographing animals and nature. It was something soothing about both. I occasionally took photos of friends and family, but not too often. After some time I put the camera down. I took photos on and off for almost 10 years with sometimes multiple years of nothing. It was mostly the times where I was at my lowest in my personal life. I couldn't function. Its hard to see beauty in other things when you don't even see it in yourself. When someone who is supposed to love you abuses you and destroys your sense of self worth, it diminishes the light that's responsible for your art. The irony in it is that all of the things that I went through and everything that had me at my lowest, is exactly what drives my work now. Its therapy. I use the pain to tell mine and others truths, and I am finally happy enough to see the beauty in everything around me and tell joyous stories as well. I want to make people think, feel, remember, and heal. Whether a project I do is on a disheartening topic or a positive one, or something just for fun, I want everyone to be able to take something from it. With that being said, I am so grateful for your support and hope you enjoy my work and always, ALWAYS see the beauty in my ART.
