EXPRESSIONS

During the beginning of this shoot, it was my intention to pose my daughter for the shots. As I was getting ready though, I could see my daughter in my peripheral moving from side to side and switching positions. When I looked to see what she was doing, she had her eyes closed and was posing herself. I snapped the picture.. I snapped the picture thinking that she, in her shyness, would stop, laugh, and ask me why I had taken the photo.. She didn't. She carefully moved her hands and body into another pose and waited. I snapped another photo. We continued this process for the next half hour. I watched my daughter, now in what seemed a new natural element for her, express herself. I gave into her creativity. I let her have creative control, and watched her flourish. To me it was like watching a flower bud bloom.
